Bruno Clavelier, Bourgogne Rouge 2009

By Steen Öhman August 30, 2011 -

The Bourgogne Rouge from Bruno Clavelier is a fine effort for it's quality level. the nose is showng fine ripe fruit, and some minerality. This wine actually is displaying some terroir. Quite "heavy" on the palate, with some rather dense 2009 fruit, lacking some acidity and freshness. A fine generic …

Jean-Jacques Confuron, Nuit-Saint-Georges Les Chabaeufs 2004

By Steen Öhman August 29, 2011 -

Very open and sweet in the bouquet - quite mature Burgundy nose. On the palate also sweet notes with fine coulis flavors. A slight green tone can be detected, if one is really picky, but otherwise very pleasent. Very charming and soft for a 2004, but is lacking some weight and lenght. A very good …

Domaine Bertheau, Chambolle Musigny Les Amoureuses 2007

By Steen Öhman August 29, 2011 -

Second time in one month - this time the Amoureuses 2007 is showing much better. Wonderful sweet and red pinot fruit in the bouquet. On the palate quite lush and charming, with a good minerality to support the structure. A very very lovely wine. It's however not a big or very concentrated wine, but …

Dennis Mortet, Gevrey Chambertin VV 2007

By Steen Öhman August 28, 2011 -

The 2007 VV from Dennis Mortet is showing very well. Wonderful ripe red notes on the nose, and a very juicy and vibrant fruit on the palate. Very good minerality and length for a village wine, really a pleasure. Taste good now, but will keep for at least 10 years - a very good effort from Mortet. …

Comte de Vogue, Chambolle Musigny 2004

By Steen Öhman August 27, 2011 -

The 2004 village wine from Vogue is opening up. Some sweet notes, some forrest bed. Really fine pinot fruit flavors, no green notes, but some sweet tones. Coulis fruit, nice acidity and a very good balance. Quite a lot better than the one tasted in June 2011. This is from a cold and humid cellar. …
