Comte Lafon, Meursault Clos de la Barre 2004

By Steen Öhman February 22, 2015 -

This Clos de la Barre 04 from Lafon is really firing on all cylinders .. what a delightful glass of matured Meursault. In the nose complex notes of allmonds, hazelnuts, acasia and acasiaflower ... hints of apple with a delicate slightly sweet fruit note. On the palate lovely intensity .. layers of …

Domaine Michelot, Nuits-Saint-Georges Richemone 2012

By Steen Öhman January 22, 2015 -

Domaine Alain Michelot is making some old school Burgundies ... many of them are in my view excessively tannic and require decades of cellaring to reach a reasonable level of drinkability. Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey, Meursault Les Gouttes d’Or 2012

By Steen Öhman January 21, 2015 -

The Meursault Les Gouttes d'Or 2012 from Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey is a delightfully balanced and defined effort. In the nose crisp yellow and white fruit .. notes of pear, pineapple, almonds and apple - quite expressively spiced with a filigree minerality, oak and citrus. On the palate fine, crisp …

Domaine Georges Roumier, Clos de Vougeot 1996

By Steen Öhman January 11, 2015 -

The Clos de Vogeot 1996 from Roumier is still quite backward and tight. In the bouquet dark berry fruit with a touch of sous-bois and a nice earthy minerality. On the palate quite dark and slightly austere at the moment ... with layered fruit supported by a fine acidity. It's medium weight with fine …

Domaine Leflaive, Puligny-Montrachet 1996

By Steen Öhman January 4, 2015 -

The 1996 Puligny village from Leflaive is showing great form. In the nose matured yellow fruit, notes of hazelnuts and acacia brought forward by a citrus infused stony minerality. On the palate lovely focus and freshness with a nicely rounded mindpalate fruit balanced by the crisp 1996 acidity. …
