Chateau La Mondotte 2001

By Steen Öhman April 2, 2012 -

The La Mondotte 2001 is offering a classical Bordeaux nose, with dark berries, cedar, liquorice. On the palate quite tight with a good balance between the rich fruit and a good grip from the tannins. It's quite elegant and more Bordeaux like than the bigger more opulent 1998. While benefitting from …

Louis Jadot, Beaune Clos de Ursules 1996

By Steen Öhman April 1, 2012 -

The 1996 Beaune Clos des Ursules from Jadot is now entering a quite mature stage. The nose is very beautiful with sweet pinot notes, truffel, forrest floor and hints of the citrus note found in many red 1996 wines. On the palate still quite some grip from the tannins and the powerfull 1996 acidity …

Chateau Troplong Mondot 2008

By Steen Öhman March 28, 2012 -

Troplong Mondot is sadly the perfect example of what I like to call a solicitor wine. Very high alcohol - 14,5% in 2008. On the nose loads of toasted oak, coffee, liquorice. Layers of sweet fruit in the bouquet, still the alcohol is quite noticeable in the nose. On the palate big and lush with a lot …

Prieure Roch, Nuits Saint Georges Clos de Corvees 2000

By Steen Öhman March 26, 2012 -

The Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos De Corvees is more or less the signature wine of Domaine Prieure Roch. The 2000 Clos de Corvees is now fully mature but very much alive. The bouquet is bursting with red fruits - strawberries and framboise - organic style. On the palate quite opulent lush pinot fruits, …

Domaine Leroy, Vosne Romanee 2004

By Steen Öhman March 14, 2012 -

The Vosne Romanee 2004 from Leroy is not your everyday Vosne Village. This village wine comes from the Vosne vineyards Romanee Saint Vivant, Richebourg, Les Beaux Monts, Aux Brulees and Genevrieres. The result is a very good wine for the vintage. In the nose it's oozing with Vosne spicyness, red …
