Very Fine (93 - 94)

Philippe Pacalet, Ruchottes Chambertin 2011

By Steen Öhman June 9, 2013 -

The 2011 Pacalet Ruchotte Chambertin is a lovely expression of the 2011 vintage. At the moment slightly reduced and backward in the bouquet - but with notes of cherries, strawberries and pomegranate - spiced with white peppar and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate layers of pure and ripe red fruit - …

Comte Lafon, Meursault Charmes 2004

By Steen Öhman May 31, 2013 -

The 2004 Meursault Charmes from Comte Lafon is lovely textbook Meursault. In the bouquet fine ripe yellow fruit, almonds, white peach and citrus. On the palate very focused with a fine acidity and minerality balanced by a quite intense fruit. It's densely flavoured - but still with a nice vibrant …

Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Echezeaux 2002

By Steen Öhman May 23, 2013 -

The palate show layers of juicy pinot fruit. It's well focused, with a lovely semi organic style in the finish. …

By Steen Öhman May 20, 2013 -

The 2011 Pacalet Echezeaux is very forward and expressive. The bouquet is crammed with sweet organic red fruit - raspberries, pomegranate, strawberries with a hint of violets and horseradish. On the palate rich - almost opulent - sweet red fruit - balaced by surprisingly abundant tannins. It's …

Camille Giroud, Corton Le Rognet 2010

By Steen Öhman May 19, 2013 -

The Corton Le Rognet 2010 from Camille Giroud is a truly beautiful Corton. In the bouquet fine red berry fruit with notes of sweet strawberries, cherries, pomegranate and wild raspberries. The oak is present in the nose, but well integrated in the lovely cool red fruit. On the palate very fine …
