Very Good (88 - 90)

Georges Roumier, Chambolle Musigny Les Combottes 2009

By Steen Öhman October 25, 2013 -

The Chambolle les Combettes 2009 from Roumier is lovely and surprisingly airy and lightfooted. In the nose red and dark berry fruit with slight notes of prunes and liquourice. On the palate rich and very ripe fruit - but still quite airy despite the somewhat warm fruit. Really like the airy feel and …

Comte de Vogue, Bonnes Mares 1973

By Steen Öhman October 22, 2013 -

The Bonnes Mares 1973 from Comte de Vogue is a great effort in this quite modest vintage. The bouquet is quite expressive with red fruit and sous-bois - spiced with orange zest and a hint of coffee. On the palate quite rich, sweet and round fruit with a nice earthy minerality. It's quite delicious …

Comte de Vogue, Chambolle Musigny 2011

By Steen Öhman October 8, 2013 -

The Chambolle village 2011 from Vogue is a bit of a walk on the wild side at the moment. In the bouquet fine Chambolle minerality - notes of blueberries, raspberries and elderberries - quite outgoing. On the palate nice candied and jellied fruit - good focus with support from the quite firm tannins …

Jean et Gilles Lafouge, Meursault Les Meix-Chavaux

By Steen Öhman October 7, 2013 -

The 2002 Meursault Les Meix-Chavaux from Lafouge is a lovely old school Meursault. In the bouquet matured yellow fruit with notes of melon, apple, hazelnuts and a nice citrus infused minerality. On the palate quite zappy acidity and a lovely fresh fruit - focused with very fine minerality for this …

Hubert Lignier, Morey-Saint-Denis 1er cru VV. 2002

By Steen Öhman October 3, 2013 -

The Morey-Saint-Denis 1er cru VV 2002 from Hubert Lignier - is quite open and showing some matured notes. In the bouquet delicate and open red fruit with notes of cherries and elderberries - quite floral with hints of peony rose and a earthy minerality. On the palate quite elegant red fruit - …
