Domaine de la Romanee-Conti, Richebourg 2011

The Richebourg 2011 from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti is a expressive firework of Vosne spices and minerality. The bouquet is currently very extrovert with refined cool red and black fruits – notes of violets, allspice and peony rose. The palate offer powerful and muscular fresh fruit – based on a framework of vibrant acidity and a almost mindblowing display of minerality. The finish is long and very persistant – expressive is in this case an understatement. Despite it’s powerful nature it’s however also very refined and transparent, and while it doesn’t offer the delicacy of the RSV – it’s in my view the better wine in 2011.
