The 08 Chambolle village from Dujac is still ready to rumble. In the bouquet quite open, fine intense fruit – raspberries, hint of strawberries and gooseberries. The nose is rounded off by a slight note of sweet liquorice, hints of roasted coffee and peppar. On the palate crisp and vibrant red fruits, a lively acidity, and a good grip from the oak. The oak is slightly forward in the taste, but there is a good complexity with hints of coffee and liquorice. Overall impression is a harmonious and quite charming wine. Seems slightly more extracted and dense than older vintages of Dujac … still a very nice effort.
(Drink from 2020) Very Good – 89p
