The Aligoteurs tasting in March/April is an annual treat serving the best aligotees made by the best aligoteurs.

The tasting brought forward wine from 2023 and 2024 … with a few off springs from the earlier vintages. A lot of very good wines and actually very few surprises …

The tasting actually made the picture even clearer… There are both fine and great winemakers also in the Aligotée category … and sadly, even some who really don’t have the talent that can lift the aligotée grape up where it belongs.
Wine of the vintage was the Nicolas Faure 2024 … – Bourgogne Aligoté La Corvée de Bully – with qualities reminding me of the 2014 vintage of this wine … the first vintage.
Second top wine was the new Fournier cuvée – Jean Fournier AUX BOUTIÈRES – made from the Savigny Les Beaune slopes … the 2023 of this cuvée brought a mineral backbone and storny reduction to the table … what a true treat.
Finally, the ranges of Silvain Pataille, Chantereves and Jerôme Galeyrand underlined the base qualities of their wines … with the large range of the Pataille aligotées underlining that Silvain is the king of Aligotée.
Also, Antoine Lepetit de la Bigne, Domaine Ponsot, Pierre-Henri Rougoet, Bret Brothers and Pierre-Olivier Garcia deserve a cheerful mention for lovely wines of distinction.
