New talents do emerge very rapidly sometimes … from one day unknown and then blossoming as new finds and stars on the Burgundy wine lists the next day.
Maï Roblin Bazin is one of these brewing and emerging stars: small production, only a few wines, and wines that are not from any of the sparkling appellations.
Maï Roblin Bazin is located above and behind Beaune … in the small and remote village of Mavilly-Mandelot – the nearest bigger village is Nantoux.
This is a new and very small estate … that caught my interest in the summer of 2016. Maï Roblin Bazin is a young, talented vigneron making only a few wines from her small estate in Mavilly-Mandelot.
Her core wine for me is the Bourgogne Aligoté Les Champs Pertuits, a very interesting Aligoté with refinement and delicacy.
Quite uniquely styled with a lovely purity and forward style …
