Emmanuel Rouget, Echezeaux 2004

The 2004 Echezeaux is a slightly disappointing effort from Rouget … but expectations are high when a Rouget wine is in the glass. In the bouquet weighty red and dark berry fruit, hints of sous-bois – not very focused or transparent. On the palate quite densely flavored with a relatively dark slightly edgy and green fruit. Lacking both transparency and the silky harmonious feel one normally find in the Rouget wines. Not bad but merely very good.
