Saturday April 24 I took a Brompton ride in the vineyards to see how bud break is progressing. It’s a bit early, but in some plots, things are beginning to move – depending on the frost damage.
I can understand why assessing the frost damage is close to impossible at this point. It will take several weeks – and some warmer weather – to eventually see the final result.
We can hope, but in some places this will not be enough.
I started out overlooking Romanée-Conti, La Romanée and Aux Reignots…
Moving north, I passed the Richebourg plot of Domaine Leroy, with Cros Parantoux in the background.
Next up, a broad view of the Richebourg and the Aux Brûlées valley.
Looking back from Echezéaux, I saw the north-facing part of Richebourg and Cros Parantoux, and behind, Les Barreaux.
Looking up La Combe d’Orveau…
Finally, a look back on the short journey, with the small house in Echézeaux du Dessus.
