The 2022 harvest has begun both in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Picking whites started at the beginning of the week (some seen as early as Aug. 19), with a part of the Meursault vineyards of Domaine des Comtes Lafon being picked this week. Volnay began on Tuesday the 23rd, with d`Angerville and Armand Heitz. In Puligny Domaine Leflaive began on August 25th.
In the Côte de Nuits, Arnoux-Lachaux also began on Tuesday the 23rd, and many growers will start the harvest on Monday, Aug. 29.
In general, quantities and quality look very good indeed, although there are hail reminders from earlier this hear, and some heat damage on sun-exposed grapes.
Weather forecast
The weather forecast is quite volatile in Burgundy at the moment. It is expected to be relatively dry until Aug. 31, and then some rain is in the picture.
