Bernard Dugat-Py, Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru 2002

First time in a long time I have tasted Dugat-Py 2002. More open than expected, and showing some red fruit and sweet notes in the bouquet along with some tar. Also quite open on the palate, with quite some lush coulis fruit. Would have expected a more closed wine, but the 2002s seems like they are getting mature notes before than first expected. I really like what I taste, fine balance, very good concentration and length, while the terroir is good rather than great. A fine wine with a good future, need more time still have a core of Dugat-Py darkness.
