Vosne Romanee

Domaine Francois Lamarche, Vosne La Croix Rameau 2002

By Steen Öhman September 3, 2013 -

The Vosne Romanee La Croix Rameau 2002 from Lamarche is slightly austere and seems over oaked. In the nose quite floral red fruit notes and a dominant tone of oak. On the palate quite lean fruit - with a quite strong impression of oak. The midpalate fruit is quite ok, but it's short and the finish …

Domaine Prieure-Roch, Vosne Les Hautes Maizieres 1996

By Steen Öhman August 31, 2013 -

The Vosne Romanee Les Hautes Maizieres 1996 from Henri Roch is a quite special combination of the powerful structure of the 96 vintage and the quite rich organic fruit in the domaine style. In the nose matured organic red berry fruit - spized with cinnamon, violets and a hint of gunpowder. On the …

Domaine Jacques Cacheux, Vosne La Croix Rameau 1999

By Steen Öhman August 30, 2013 -

The Vosne Romanee Les Croix Rameau 1999 from Cacheux is not a memorable bottle. In the nose a quite austere fruit expression with some quite strong hints of oak. On the palate loads of tannins and quite lean fruit - not very pleasent. No flaws detected - but hopefully other examples are better. In …

Domaine Meo-Camuzet, Vosne Les Chaumes 1996

By Steen Öhman August 29, 2013 -

The Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes 1996 from Meo-Camuzet is a big rather rustic wine. In the nose red and dark fruit - slightly stewed and alcoholic. On the palate dense and rich with liquorice infused dark berry fruit. It's quite intense but still somewhat backward and austere. In my view too extracted …

Bruno Clavelier, Vosne Romanee Les Hautes Maizieres 2010

By Steen Öhman August 27, 2013 -

The Vosne Romanee Les Hautes Maizieres 2010 from Clavelier is a lovely effort. The bouquet offer red and dark berry fruit, with notes of raspberries, cassis and elderberries - crisp with a gorgeous display of Vosne spices. On the palate quite weigthy fruit focused by a impressive acidity and …
