Visit to Domaine Georges Glantenay – Tasting the 2022s

Domaine Georges Glantenay is a sister-and-brother venture, with Sarah in charge of sales and Guillaume overseeing viticulture and winemaking.

This year it was Sarah who welcomed me, as Guillaume was otherwise occupied. We had a fine tour through the cellars, and a beautiful view of the 2023s filling them to the brim.

Domaine Georges Glantenay is one of the top domaines in Volnay, on a level with the very best estates there thanks to its delightfully energetic and seductive wines. The 2022s are magnificent, and true delights

The ’22s are a home run

The 2019s, 2020s, and 2021s have all been vivid and lively, and as the years pass, Guillaume gets better and better at his job. He has enough experience now that he feels confident in experimenting a bit.

The 2022s are a pinnacle of sorts, as they are a strong continuation of the previous years’ record of going from strength to strength. The ’22s represent a lovely, harmonious, and vivid picture – bravo! What’s more, they get better and better as one tastes up the range.
