Domaine Odoul-Coquard, NSG Aux Saint-Jacques 2014

The Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Saint-Jacques village from Domaine Odoul-Coquard is a lovely wine. It comes from a vineyard located close to the border to Vosne-Romanee – and this translate into a quite refined and complex wine. This area above the road and near Vosne-Romanee is a bit overlooked in my view and can produce some lovely wines. The nose offers red and darkberry fruit – cherries, pomegranate and boysen berries – a slight hint of Vosne spicyness. The oak is quite well integrated currently and offers nice support – although it improves in the glas. On the palate lovely deep fruit, quite generous and transparent with a nice expression of terroir. It’s a charming Nuits-Saint-Georges village .. and at a quite attractive price point.
