Sunday April 25 Mr. Brompton took me high up in the hills to Chaux, a small, rather unknown village in the Hautes Côtes. It was a test drive and a Sunday excursion aimed at seeing Nuits-Saint-Georges from the south and above.
So first, the quick trip to Chaux – 4 km from Nuits and 140 metres up in the Côte altitude-wise. (On this leg, Brompton’s electric propulsion was a great help.)
The trip down was equally beautiful, with stunning views of the vineyards.
Starting in Chaux…
Back towards NSG, we drove past Les Terrasses of Vallerots, Axelle Machard de Gramont’s vines, and a downhill charging opportunity.
Below are two views of the heart of the Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyard and the northern part of Premeaux, with Les Saint-Georges in the foreground.
North is a beautiful view of Nuits, and the village vineyards Les Fleuriéres and Les Maladiéres.
Downhill towards NSG are the impressive Faiveley winery and the village vineyards of Belle Croix and Tribourg.
And finally, home sweet home: the Nuits town hall!
