It’s hot and dry, and the harvest will start in a bit more than a week in Macon, and the question is: when will we start in the Côte d´Or.
It is going to be a harvest starting already in mid-August (new record) and ending in the first week of September.
I will follow the 2026 harvest closely while I try to keep up momentum on tasting the fabulous 2025s. We will see if the vignerons have time during the harvesting period.
So far there is no reason to change the harvesting forecasts, although the phenolic ripeness most likely will be delayed in the vineyards due to the dry conditions.

I still expect a start around the 15th of August in Côte de Beaune, and around the 22nd of August in Côte de Nuits.
I have vignerons who will start on August 17th if all is developing according to current plans … and this in the Beaune/Corton area.
Stay tuned; harvest coverage has already started!
