The 2006 Mazis Chambertin from Roty is surprisingly open. In the nose cherries, raspberries with some sauvage notes – the oak is quite discrete. On the palate rich, expressive and concentrated. It’s quite elegant and charming with a allmost creamy texture. The oak is not very dominant in the wine, but present in the finish – as a firm structure together with the fine terroir. Perhaps not the most complex wine, but it’s nevertheless a very fine wine with a nice terroir expression and a lovely juicy fruit.
(Drink From 2018) Very Fine – 93p

- Vineyard Insight: Griotte-ChambertinGriotte-Chambertin has a special place in my Burgundy heart – as it was one of the first Grand Crus I acquired when I began to collect Burgundies around 1990.
