There is no reason to write several pages about the greatness of Jean-Marie Fourrier … he is plain and simply one of the very best producers of red Burgundy … and I really mean VERY BEST!
I love the silky and elegant wines, the hedonistic joy you get from the wines – the lovely drinkability… not many wines show that well, almost regardless of time.
Furthermore, he has some interesting cool terroirs located in the top part of Gevrey-Chambertin … To run through his top terroirs is interesting, as not all of them are fully embraced by the lovers of Burgundian pinot.

Furthermore, Jean-Marie Fourrier has acquired the equally legendary Australian wine Bass-Phillip, thus expanding the Fourrier brand even more. A very strong duo of pinot.

This explains the cool and vivid style of the Goulot terroir … one of the terroirs that suits global warming and hot years like 2015. It remains the Frais et Léger style …

Not a terroir that can match Clos Saint-Jacques in complexity and depth … but with its liveliness it does have something different … a dancing, effortless lightness even in hotter years,
