Comte Lafon, Meursault Clos de la Barre 2001

By Steen Öhman October 23, 2011 -

The Clos de la Barre 2001 is a fine wine at best. This example was however not in perfect condition, as it had a hint of premox. Quite developed bouquet, with some very mature notes, but also some good mineral elements. The color indicated quite some oxidation - and not a 10 year old wine. The …

Comte de Vogue, Bonnes Mares 2009

By Steen Öhman October 22, 2011 -

The Bonnes Mares is often the odd wine out in the Vogue lineup. Not this year however. Very focused bouquet with red and dark fruits - coulis and creme de fruit. On the palate same story, very pure, refined and focused. Good acidity, freshness, and a fine minerality for a Bonnes Mares in a hot …

Comte de Vogue, Chambolle Musigny 1er cru 2009

By Steen Öhman October 21, 2011 -

The Vogue 2009 Chambolle 1er cru is like always made from young vines on the Musigny vineyard. Slightly closed in the bouquet, with a rather dark fruit expression. Not much minerality is showing in the nose. The taste is more forward with dense fruit, quite good acidity and minerality. Fine coulis …

Comte de Vogue, Chambolle Musigny 2009

By Steen Öhman October 21, 2011 -

The Chambolle village 2009 from Vogue is a fine wine for the vintage. The bouquet shows fine minerality and red and darker fruits. On the palate very good backbone of tannin and acidity, with a very fine freshness for a 2009. Very well balanced effort from Vogue. A pleasure and one of the top …

Chateau Latour Martillac 1955

By Steen Öhman October 20, 2011 -

Second time I taste the Latour Martillac 1955, and this time much more interesting. This is not your everyday white, this is a dry Bordeaux but made from semillion with quite some sweetness. The sweetness has kept this wine balanced for 56 years, and where a lot of other white Bordeaux fall appart, …
