Many relatively unknown terroirs deserve a cheer and a nod for the potential qualities we find when it is brought forward by the right hedonistic friend.
Les Cazetiers is not really unknown … but somehow deserves a shout-out … don’t you think?. I might even do a deeper article, but to be honest quite difficult work with all the plots and owners.
Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is one of the most interesting 1er crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. It is a vineyard with a strong following in certain groups of collectors, and I do understand why.
Please note there is also a Petits Cazetieres located just north of Cazetieres.
Les Cazetieres is located above the village of Gevrey-Chambertin and just north og Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques … perhaps the most prominent 1er cru in Gevrey.
The top-end producers are, amongst others, Domaine Duroche, Domaine d`Eugenie and Domaine des Chézeaux (Hudelot Noellat) … all producing interesting wines from this cru.

Pierre Duroche has, for some years, done experiments in the Cazetiers vineyard. See this article from Cazetier from 2021.
To me, the Duroche Cazetieres show another side of the Duroche wines, a more free and organic side … Pierre Duroche is a true talent, note you.

Domaine Duroché Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers 2019. Cazetiers is where Pierre Duroché does his experiments in pruning and canopy management – high trellising, woven arches and so forth.
