Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, La Romanee 2009

The La Romanee 2009 is quite different from both the 2008 and 2010 with it’s darker and more dense expression. In the nose red and darkberry fruit, oak still a bit forward … relatively dark compared to other vintages. On the palate weighty and quite dark fruit, remarkably refined for the vintage, with the filigree minerality of the terroir lifting this relatively dense vintage. A playful core of red fruit is providing the vibrant energy .. a magnificent effort in this vintage. This really needs time to unfold …
