Burgundy is becoming increasingly complex … as the structures are changing. Before, the Domaines were often focused in one appellation – now more and more are expanded into numerous appellations and areas.
This complexity demands another view on the domaines as the wines from the domaines no longer have the same, uniform high quality … now some of the wines are new in the domaines and not up to the standard of the original vineyards at the Domaine. Marsannay is, after all, not Vosne or Chambolle.
Now you really need to know what to buy from the domaine … and should not settle for any village, 1er cru or even Grand cru. Some wines will surprise negatively … others are classics, giving pleasure and strong emotional qualities.
I have therefore expanded my coverage of the Domaine with even more detailed advice about what to buy. This goes for the appellations, the vineyards and the single wines from the individual producers.

Get it personal
I also do personal advice and discussions on any topic, where you can pick my Burgundy brain for advice.
Could be what wines and vintages I would pick for Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair … why Aux Reignots is special, why others might disappoint, details, but crucial if you want to drink these costly wines.
