Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, La Romanee 2014

The 2014 La Romanee is a beautiful wine – showing very well even at this early stage. In the bouquet layers of very delicate red fruit – notes of strawberries, boysenberries, cherries – spiced with violets and peony rose and – presented by a very refined and powerful filigree minerality. On the palate layers of juicy and delicate fruit – very harmonious with a magnificent juicyness.  A intense but also very delicate wine with a tremendous underlying minerality. Love the combination delicate red fruit of the 2014 vintage and the the filigree minerality of this great terroir.  Perhaps not the greatest La Romanee … but most certainly one of the most refined.
