The 2008 Meursault Charmes from Mikulski is slightly closed. The bouquet is showing some yellow fruit – melon and notes of pear. The oak is slightly forward in the nose, together with citrus notes … lemon zest and grapefruit. On the palate quite subble for a 08, with a good underlying acidity and minerality. A bigger wine than the 2010 Poruzots, but is lacking a bit refinement as the 2008 acidity is a little more rough around the edges. Still a fine wine – and first and foremost a pleasure. Will keep 10 years – need a few years to show the potential,
