Philippe Pacalet, Pinot Noir 2011

By Steen Öhman July 14, 2012 -

First 2011 Burgundy tasted from bottle - Pacalet Pinot Noir 2011. This is normally one of my favorite generic Burgundies, and the 2011 edition is not changing this - a lovely glass of pinot. In the bouquet red cherries, cherry stones with hints of strawberries - the fruit is slighly candied and …

Anne Gros, Hautes Cotes de Nuits 2011

By Steen Öhman June 19, 2012 -

The Haut Cote de Nuits is the starting wine in the Anne Gros lineup. In the nose fine red fruits, raspberries and hints of black cherries. On the palate fine delicate pinot aromas, good structure and balance. Lacks a little of the refinement found in the Bourgogne rouge. Above Average (83 - 84p) …

The Hautes Cotes de Nuits Blanc is a quite charming and unprecientous white. In the nose apple, citrus, pear and peach. On the palate fine fresh acidity and minerality, quite elegant. Above Average (83 - 85p) CASK Tasted 04/05/2012 …

Domaine Meo-Camuzet, Clos de Vougeot 2004

By Steen Öhman June 18, 2012 -

The Clos de Vougeot 2004 from Meo is showing quite mature notes. In the nose spicy sweet pinot aromas with cherries and raspberries. On the palate quite lush og rich with a quite good length. The fruit seems slighly stewed and dense. Lacking some vibrant freshness in the fruit - But still a nice …

Domaine Trapet, Gevrey Chambertin Petit Chapelle 2004

By Steen Öhman June 17, 2012 -

The Petot Chapelle 2004 from Domaine Trapet is quite mature. In the bouquet sweet cherry notes, with hints of gooseberries and caramel - seems almost chaptalized. On the palate slightly stewed in the fruit, strawbeeries and cherries. Not very long - slightly hollow in the mid palate. In the finish …
