Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair, La Romanee 2007

La Romanee 2007 is big step up from Aux Reignots and Echezeaux. The nose is slightly closed but very intense and mineral driven with red and black fruit aromas, peony rose, violets and asian spices. On the palate layers of intense sweet – but cool – pinot fruit perfectly supported by the intense multidimensional minerality of this great terroir. The finish is long and intense with a lovely vibrant minerality. A very focused and refined effort – very impressive for the vintage.
