The Vosne Romanee Clos du Chateau is showing brilliantly. On the nose fine and delicate red fruit .. organic and offering the full range of Vosne spices. On the palate open with a lovely expressive red fruit, intense for a village with very fine length and complexity. A gorgeous and big village … but also evidence that Louis-Michel has improved quite a lot since the mighty 2005 vintage. This is nevertheless a top Vosne village – magnificent Juice. Drinking well now .. but need some time to unfold completely.

- Visit to Domaine Roulot – Tasting the 2023sThe 2023 vintage is tricky as the ripeness builds very fast at the end, causing many vignerons to have problems with overripe phenolics. To combat this eventuality, Domaine Roulot has increased the harvesting teams from 35 to 50 pickers a few years back, and this has given more degrees of freedom regarding the harvest. The 2023s at ...
- Visit to Domaine Nicolas Faure – Tasting the 2024s from CaskIt has been almost 10 years since I first visited Domaine Nicolas Faure in Meuilley. This gives a certain perspective … although vintages 2021 and 2024 broke the trend with global warming taking its toe with increased ripeness and generosity of fruit. Nicolas Faure’s wines are still, for me, perfect examples of vins d’émotion. They are ...
