Sunday in NSG – harvest is moving on … although it has become relatively quiet in the vineyards.
The harvest is not necessarily a time of hyper stress with many harvesters in each vineyard… It’s more the combined effort of many teams populating the many different plots spread out all over Burgundy!!
Burgundy is all about connections and business relationships… friendships and passion. I try to visit a lot of the same every year, expanding with a few new ones every year
This year, I feel the urge to focus on some of the slightly overlooked talents that I want to give some extra focus.
Domaine Georges Glantenay is a sister-and-brother joint venture, with Sarah Glantenay in charge of sales and Guillaume Glantenay in charge of viticulture and winemaking.
One of these estates is Domaine Georges Glantenay in Volnay ….
Georges Glantenay and Thomas Bouley (Domaine Jean-Marc et Thomas Bouley) are, in my view, the two estates of Volnay these days.

Domaine Georges Glantenay is one of the top domaines in Volnay, on par with the very best estates thanks to its delightfully energetic and seductive wines. Both the 2023s and the 2022s are true delights.
With its qualitative progress in recent years, Domaine Georges Glantenay is (for me) edging ahead in the “race” between the two Glantenay estates.
In truth, however, it is not a race. Still, I feel compelled to say that I really enjoy the delicate and drinkable style of Domaine Georges Glantenay’s wines.
This is the short news of today
